How to Setup Joomla on BlueHost – Fast!

I was setting up Joomla for one of our new template demos on BlueHost today and thought I’d record the process to show you how quick and easy it really is!

And remember, BlueHost are currently sponsoring our 3 month Joomla template membership – so if you make the wise decision to host your site with them, you can also make your website beautiful with one of our Premium templates, absolutely free!

Click here to visit BlueHost (After you watch my super quick video, of course!)

Bluehost JoomlaUpdate – a while back I made a longer Bluehost Joomla video which you can see here. The screencast above is a little more to the point.

  1. Thank you for the video. Indeed, installing Joomla on Bluehost is one of the easiest. I’ve encountered other hosting companies which not only excluded Joomla from their Fantastico scripts, but they specifically mentioned in the customer agreement that it’s not recommended to use Joomla because it uses too much of the server resources. Of course it didn’t occur to me that I should have read that long agreement, so I had to move my sites from that host. I already have a Bluehost account and I’m happy with it.

  2. Actually everything on the cPanel is obviously SLOW. Check out other hosting providers, you should notice the difference. If you are not recording this in a web cafe in the north pole ofc…

    • Pandjarov,

Actually, I recorded this from New Zealand – not too far from the South Pole actually… and with 300 milliseconds delay – I can promise you another server I run for a client has the same delay, and that’s an $800 USD per month, dual quad core, currently under no load and hosted with Rackspace…

For the money, Bluehost are fantastic – name me another cPanel provider that actually has the latest version of Joomla installing from Fantastico for starters. I’ve used over 10 other cPanel hosts and all of them installed an outdated version of Joomla, even months after 1.5.15 was released (the latest at the time of this writing).

Additionally, for most people getting started and learning about Joomla hosting, decent support is a very important requirement. I can get a Bluehost support tech on the phone in under 60 seconds – and that’s via Skype from the South Pole!

      You can’t beat that!

  3. WYSIWYG editor <– do anyone has like this, i am new in this thing called what you see is what you get. :(

  4. Thank you. I found this video instructive, and it saved me several hours of poking around. Why use subdomains? Could you set up a test subdomain to test a new website, then move the results to the main domain?

  5. the fastest way to install joomla is through cpanel/plesk! sometimes it will give you an error that it could not delete “…” just go into the folder an delete it yourself… then try again.

  6. I really like your blog.. very nice colors & theme. Did you make this website yourself or did you hire someone to do it for you? Plz reply as I’m looking to construct my own blog and would like to know where u got this from. appreciate it
